宁静的夜晚，破旧顽皮的小卡车Mater（Larry The Cable Guy 音）到处游走，以吓唬其他汽车为乐，严肃的警长（Michael Wallis 音）向他讲述了一个闪着蓝光四处漂浮的鬼火的传说。起初不以为然的Mater听到最后吓得全身发抖。警长讲完故事，所有的车辆四散离开。沉浸在恐惧之中的Mater战战兢兢回到家里，却发现自己成为鬼火的跟踪对象，吓得他在深夜的公路上狂奔不止……
